The young girl writes about a trip with her parents to Brussels, England and Paris. Her style is very succinct and she mainly notes their arrivals and departures; although sometimes she mentions the cities they visited and the people who received them there. She gives a little more detail of her stay in Paris. In particular, the excursions she made to Versailles, the Tuilleries, and the Bastille. The last pages are written in the form of a diary. They cover the years 1773-1776 (while she was back in Lausanne) and she writes of her social activities during this period: the plays she attended; excursions to the countryside; singing lessons; social evenings; and her stay in Langnau. She mentions several times the fact that her father suffered from gout. |
