Content |
Leuw's autobiographical note on his time as pastor in Berg, a post he lost due to complaints – mainly because he had too much patience with the Protestants. The volume reports on the test that Leuw had to take in advance of his examination, about his inaugural sermon, which led to the first lawsuits, and about the entire dispute regarding his behaviour, the interrogation in Constance, a three-month reschooling in Meersburg and finally the deposition led by the Kollator (a form of prebendary) from Bischofszell. Leuw has a very lively writing style, explains his point of view in great detail, describes, for example, a reception given by the Bishop of Constance or expresses himself frankly regarding his erotic impulses. |
