Content | The author writes a chronicle of events which occur in Bern, such as the imposition of taxes, elections, deaths in patriciate, political affairs or simply the weather. These are interspersed with some entries of a personal nature, such as notes on the career paths of his sons (Ludwig and Karl) or his own offices (election to the Small Council in 1754). The death of Beat Ludwig von Wattenwyl in 1756 is recorded by one of his children, who continues the notes until 1763. Another direct descendant comments on some of the entries written by Ludwig. |
