Content | Diary-like text usually comprised of only one entry per year. Sometimes even less. The structure of the text is not immediately clear as it's not chronological. She begins by writing about her marriage and then important family matters such as the birth of her children and the death of her beloved grandfather (Emanuel Ritter) and 5-year-old son, Remigius. She also records the death of her husband. Later, she writes about the marriages of her children and subsequently the arrival of her daughters' children. In between, she makes regular notes on accounting or financial matters. Overall the text is very religious. It is noteworthy that the author's name is not apparent from the text itself, but can only be ascertained by the name of her husband via his family book. |
