| Physical description | notebook with strong cover, 17 x 22 x 1.5 cm, only 1/3 of the notebook is written. |
| Content | The notebook starts with a genealogy. The author then introduces herself briefly and states the date of her marriage. She goes on to record the birth, baptism and even death of her children – as well as the deaths of her brother and sister’s children and those of other family members. From 1656 she makes notes on her children’s upbringing; especially their studies and subsequent careers as councillors, ministers and professors. The author's death is recorded by one of her children on October 4, 1687. An unidentified hand continues the notebook sometime during the first half of the eighteenth century. Over several pages this person records the marriages and deaths of people mentioned by Judith. |
