Religious meditation. The diarist emphasizes the importance of God in her life and how it impacts her daily life. The diarist speaks about her upbringing in the protestant Family living in France. She talks about the difficult situation of her co-religionists and the feelings of fear she feels about the idea that someone discovers her true religion. Only the time she spent in Geneva was an happy time because of the opportunity of being openly protestant. This was experienced as a liberation. Then she writes about her marriage with the Count of Béthusy and the birth of her children. She finished this first part with the list of her grandchildren. The second part is about her journey to join the Moravian Church. Both parts of the text are written for her children. |
