Daily accounts of her pupil, Cécile Constant. The diarist gave Cécile lessons and supervised her throughout the day. She writes of Cécile's behaviour and her daily activities (particularly lessons and outings). As such, it's an important document for learning about the life of a young and wealthy girl during this period. It also provides an insight into the governess's feelings about her work. The diary written by Clementine Witel was followed by that of Antoinette Benoist. |
