Biographical information |
Daughter of Jean-André-Marc Benoît and Catherine-Pernette De Lord. Following her mother's death she worked in Lausanne (1812 to 1819) as governess to the family of César Constant de Rebecque. In 1823 she married Bernard Naef and gave birth to a son, Eugène-François-Bernard. |

Content | Like her predecessor, Clémentine Witel, Antoinette writes every evening an account of what her pupil Cécile did during the day. As such, her diary records their lessons, games, visits, social interactions, parties, walks, dances etc. In this way it provides a lot of information about the daily life and education of a young woman at the beginning of the nineteenth century. |
