René-Guillaume was the son of Jeanne-Marie Bellamy and Abraham Prevost, pastor and rector at a Calvinist middle school. His brother, Pierre Prevost, was a Professor at the Academy of Geneva. René-Guillaume himself was a notary and member of the CC council of Geneva. He married Olympe-Caroline-Charlotte Dassier. They had two children: Anne Marie Pauline (1785-1819) and Charles François (1786-1848). |

| Content |
Educational record of the diarist's children. He writes between five and ten times a year and notes the exact details of their scholarly work. His ideas are inspired by Rousseau. He speaks about their progress and any difficulties they are having. He also takes note of their health and personal habits. René-Guillaume stops writing when he believes he's accomplished his educational duty. Namely, when his daughter is married and his son has secured a good commercial position. |
