| Biographical information | Son of Jacques de Gélieu and Elisabeth Willy. In 1778, he married Marguerite Isabelle Frêne, daughter of Théophile Rémy Frêne. He was elected pastor in 1760. Member of the Economic Society of Bern and of the Swiss Society of Natural Sciences, he published in 1816 a short treaties on beekeeping called "Le Conservateur des abeilles". | |
